At Mondays nights Huron City commission meeting solid waste director Dale Fortin presented a plan of a 3 day cleanup for Huron residents August 8, 9 and 10th. The first day involves the United Way Day of Caring. It is intended to help Huron residents clean up for the Sd State Fair. Fortin talks about the 3 day event.
Fortin said Huron residents may take unlimited load all three days to the Huron solid waste transfer station.
For Huron residents that have items to discard but do not have a vehicle to haul the items to the solid waste site, Fortin said United Way Day of Caring is there to help.
Residents that would like to have items taken away on the August 8th day they are asked to schedule the pick up by calling the Huron city inspection and engineering office at 605-353-8510.
