Three Brothers, Two Crimes, Multiple Charges

Mitchell Police are connecting the dots involving two separate crimes that include a trio of brothers. Twenty-two year-old Jeremiah Hart is charged with Reckless Burning and Intentional Damage to Property. His brother, 20-year-old Matthew Hart is charged with Aiding and Abetting Reckless Burning and Aiding and Abetting Intentional Damage to Property. Jeremiah Hart is charged in Beadle County with Grand Theft Of A Motor Vehicle in relation to the stolen car/arson case. Hart is also facing an aggravated assault charge for a separate incident in Huron last weekend. In addition, Jeremiah Hart is also being charged in Mitchell in relation to an incident that took place at the Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell on August 17.

Jeremiah has confessed to the robbery. A third Hart, 28-year-old Charles, is charged with Aiding and Abetting First Degree Robbery in the Queen of Peace case. Charles Hart is accused of giving Jeremiah a ride to area around Queen of Peace prior to the robbery taking place, then picking him up afterwards. Charles is also accused of collecting the money stolen from the victim. Charles and Matthew Hart are listed as residents of Mitchell. Jeremiah has a Huron address.
