Thompkins Pleads Not Guilty In Domestic Shooting Incident

A 19-year-old Huron man accused of firing a gun into a house during a domestic dispute now has a trial date. Tyrell Thompkins pleaded not guilty Tuesday to charges that include aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm while intoxicated, driving under the influence, open container in a motor vehicle, intentional damage to property, underage consumption and obstructing a law enforcement officer. Huron police arrested Thompkins on November 10th after he fired several rounds into a home with a 22 caliber rifle after a domestic incident with a female at the residence escalated. Thompkins fled the scene before police arrived. Judge Jon Erickson set a trial date of March 6th. Thompkins next court appearance is a motions hearing on February 26th.
