Temporary Clinic To Open In Mid-November

Community Counseling’s former building at 34 3rd street Southeast in Downtown Huron has been selected as the temporary site for Horizon Health Care’s new clinic in Huron. Once the lease for the building begins on October 1st, Horizon officials will begin preparing the temporary space to accommodate patient visits. Equipment from Horizon clinics already operating will be used in three exam rooms a lab area and waiting room. Horizon officials are recruiting staff and conducting daily job interviews. The James Valley Community Health Center will open for patients at the temporary location in mid-November. The Horizon Health Care facility in Huron will be the only local health center to offer a Sliding Fee program to assist patients in paying for services provided. Horizon Health has 11 similar clinics across Eastern South Dakota including locations in Wessington Springs, Woonsocket, De Smet and Howard.
