Task Force Focusing on Housing Shortage in Smaller Towns

A legislative task force has been working on some ideas to help smaller towns in South Dakota build affordable housing.

Governor Dennis Daugaard says there are a number of funding programs already available.

Daugaard says the bigger problems are in the smaller towns.

Daugaard says there are also some issues with banks financing developments in small towns.

The legislative task force has focused on the Building South Dakota program as a possible source of funding for some housing projects.
