Usually “recovery” is a term reserved for towing services and tow trucks, however it was the Huron Police Department that did the recovering of a stolen tow truck, with a little help from their friends. Police took a report of a tow truck stolen from the 2100 block of Old Highway 14 last Saturday. After recieving information that the truck may have been wrecked south of Doland, authorities contacted the Spink County Sheriff’s Office. Dupties in Spink County located the tow truck and several pieces of evidence inside. Officials say the wrecker entered a ditch and collided with a cement culvert, causing 22-thousand dollars worth of damage to the rig. Aberdeen police contacted Huron authorities with a possible suspect. The information from Aberdeen, led HPD investigators to contact the Webster Police Department to locate and interview the suspect. Webster Police arrested Matthew Curtis Sichmeller of Webster for Theft of a Motor Vehicle. He was taken to the Day County Jail were his bail was set at 10-thousand dollars cash or surety.
