police lightsMore details have been released in regards to a high speed pursuit through Pierre that involved a juvenile Thursday afternoon.  The vehicle involved was a state owned-vehicle stolen by a juvenile male near Huron. The vehicle was later spotted near Pierre around 5:30 P.M. Thursday, which led to a pursuit. The vehicle eventually crashed into a tree at the corner of Buchannan and Dakota in Pierre and the suspect was taken into custody.  The Stanley County’s Sheriff Office, who was not involved with the pursuit, has completed the crash investigation. Hughes County State’s Attorney Wendy Kloeppner will handle any prosecution.  No names or other details are being released at this time.  The Stanley County Deputy Sheriff Greg Swanson says they investigated the crash and pursuit because the other agencies wanted an agency not involved in the pursuit to investigate the crash.
