State Telecommunications Association Official Says SD Ahead of National Average in Broadband Internet Access

South Dakota is in pretty good shape for broadband internet access.

Governor Kristi Noem made expanding that access a priority in her State of the State speech.

Greg Dean with the South Dakota Telecommunications Association says the state is ahead of the national average.

Dean says they agree with the Governors idea of a public – private partnership.

Dean says any plan for expansion will take some time.

Noem has not yet said how much state money would be involved, or where it would come from.
