Dave Owen, President of the South Dakota Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will bring his post-legislative tour to Huron today.
While there was no one overarching major issue for the 2018 South Dakota legislature, progress was made on a number of important fronts.
He says House Speaker Mark Mickelson should get considerable credit
Owen says it is not easy to make adjustments to the constitution
Owen says with the departure of Mickelson and other leaders, next year’s session will be vastly different
There will also be a new Governor, and changes in many constitutional offices next year.
