Southeastern Snowfall Accounting For Wetter Than Average Winter

207th SW WolseyThe winter of 2015-16 was a little wetter than average across South Dakota.  State Climatologist and associate professor at South Dakota State University Dr. Dennis Todey says it’s primarily due to snow and rain in the southeast.

El Nino has been our weather word for a while now, and Todey says it is weakening.

Todey says right now, indicators point to summer being on the warm side across much of the state.
