The US Department of the Interior is sending over $864-thousand to South Dakota to support outdoor recreation and conservation projects.
The funds come from the Land and Water Conservation Fund and enable state and local governments to improve existing parks and other recreation areas in their communities through rehabilitation and upgrade projects. These dollars may also be used to create new parks in places that have none and to develop and expand trail systems that link communities and add recreation opportunities.
Nebraska, North Dakota and Minnesota are also among the states receiving recreation and conservation project funding.
