A pair of measures coming from the South Dakota Ag Land Assessment Task Force will be some of the priorities for the state Farm Bureau during the upcoming South Dakota Legislative Session next month. Farm Bureau Lobbyist Mike Held says one has to do with classification of native grasslands.
He says another measure has to do with updating soil data that is used in determining land productivity.
Held says they’ll also be waiting to see what the Governor’s proposal is for increasing education funding and teacher pay and the resulting impact on property taxes.
The 2016 session begins January 12 and runs for 38 legislative days.
