The National Weather Service is trying to get ahead of what could be a major spring snow storm to welcome the weekend. A Winter Storm Watch is already posted for the central Missouri River Valley and westward toward the Black Hills. Mike Connelly at the National Weather Service in Aberdeen says it’s very important to take note that the forecast WILL change before the weekend, but a big storm is brewing.
Connelly says it’s a system you should keep track of, especially for travel.
Connelly says there is no break in the colder pattern that is preventing days like Tuesday from continuing anytime soon.
Precipitation will start as rain in our area before changing over the snow by Friday afternoon. Between Friday night and Saturday, the Huron area could see up to 9 inches of snow accumulation. High winds are also forecast across the area.
