Snow Causes Collapse of Outbuilding at NorthWestern Energy

While last weekends blizzard caused more than its share of problems, widespread power outages were not among them.

Tom Glanzer, spokesman for NorthWestern Energy, says the Spring winter event could have been much worse from the standpoint of electrical service.

However, the weather was less kind to a building at the company’s South Dakota operations headquarters in Huron which collapsed under the weight of the snow.

Glanzer says the snow didn’t pose a threat to any other buildings.

NorthWestern Energy serves over 709,000 electric and natural gas customers in South Dakota, Montana and Nebraska
