On the evening of Monday January 17th, Armour, South Dakota residents may have been alarmed by gunfire. A report of shots fired from a building on main street brought law enforcement from Douglas, surrounding counties and the SD Highway patrol to investigate. The incident was contained and did not escalate. Douglas County Sheriff Jim Severson described the outcome of the incident.
Severson said while the case is continuing, no one was harmed and he does not expect any major charges.
He spoke about internet rumors about the incident. Those rumors claimed that law enforcement exchanged gun fire with the subjects.
