Sex trafficking sting in central South Dakota nets Miller man with arrest

Jail DoorPIERRE, S.D. (AP) – A South Dakota man is facing a sex trafficking charge after authorities accused him of attempting to solicit sex from a person he believed to be a minor.  The office of South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley says 34-year-old Joseph Raleigh, of Miller, has been charged with one count of attempted commercial sex trafficking.  Raleigh was arrested Friday after he allegedly answered an advertisement placed by a law enforcement task force on a classified advertising website.  Jackley’s office says Raleigh’s arrest was the result of weekend joint operation among state, federal and local officials in the Pierre area.  Raleigh faces a mandatory sentence of 10 years in prison if convicted. It wasn’t immediately clear if he has an attorney who could comment on the charge.
