The sentencing of an Iroquois man who pleaded guilty to second degree manslaughter in January is set. Beadle County States Attorney Mike Moore says Kyle Gross will be sentenced on March 1st. Gross made a plea deal with prosecutors on the day his son Kyle was set to stand trial on manslaughter charges for a September 2008 accident that killed Huron native Barbara Walter , who was living in Washington State. Under the plea agreement, Gross’ recommended sentence is 90 days inthe Beadle County jail, however Judge Jon Erickson is not restricted from changing that amount of time. Charges against Brady Gross were dismissed in the plea agreement. Gross will also have to properly maintain his fleet of trucks as part of the deal. Brady Gross was driving a truck owned by Kyle Gross when the brakes failed, causing the truck to hit Walters car, killing her. Both Gross’ were facing both first and second degree manslaughter charges in relation to the crash. Gross could face a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a 20-thousand dollar fine.
