Senate Approves Measure That Would Prevent President from Firing Mueller

The Senate Judiciary Committee approved a measure that would protect Special Counsel Robert Mueller from any attempt by President Trump to fire him.

South Dakota Senator Mike Rounds says he doesn’t think the action is necessary.

Rounds says the Senate could take action if and when the President makes a move to fire Mueller.

Rounds says the move by the Senate committee is not helpful.

The Mueller legislation in the committee may be symbolic since Senate Majority Leading Mitch McConnell has said he will not bring it to the floor for debate.
