Twenty-eight South Dakota Farmers Union members are heading to Washington DC next week for the National Farmers Union’s Fly In. President Doug Sombke says there are many concerns in farm country.
He says crop insurance tweaks need to be made in the next farm bill to help farmers hurt by low commodity prices.
Sombke says expanding Medicare could be one of the keys to improving rural health care.
The Legislative Fly In runs from September 10 through the 13th.
