The South Dakota Farmers Union is tracking three measures expected to be heard this week in the legislature in Pierre. One deals with non-meandered waters, and two others have to do with redistricting proposals. Farmers Union Lobbyist Mitch Richter says they’re opposed to a proposal from sportsmen’s groups.
He says there are a pair of legislative proposals that would change how redistricting is done in South Dakota.
Richter says there needs to be a better balance and a fairer way of determining districts.
Richter says legislators have over 500 bills they’re dealing with this session.
