South Dakota Wheat Grower’s has purchased the 40,000 ton dry fertilizer plant at Kimball, South Dakota. Wheat Grower’s Spokesman Greg Smith says the Kimball facility will allow them to serve their customers more efficiently.
He says the Kimball location will be their largest fertilizer plant in their system, and has a 110 rail car unit capacity. Smith says they’ll be able to keep up with customer demand with the new plant.
Smith says with the purchase they’ll be able to add to their customer base.
He says the Kimball fertilizer plant is a state of the art facility.
Smith says they’re already up and operating and have retained the three workers at the Kimball plant that had previously worked for Gavilon.
