South Dakota’s John Thune and Mike Rounds both question the timing of President Trump’s firing of FBI Director James Comey.
Senator Rounds says he was surprised by the timing, and says that the firing will not be allowed to impede the investigation into Russian meddling in the Presidential election.
Senator Thune tells Fox News he also has some concerns:
He’s hoping to hear more from the Administration about the timing and the process of the Comey termination. But Thune says there is plenty of bipartisan support for what the President did, because there’s been a loss of confidence in Comey.
Thune tells Fox News that there is no need for a special counsel to investigate Russian meddling in the Presidential Election.
