Orange will be the color of the season around Huron this summer. The South Dakota Department of Transportation has released a list of projects to be completed in Beadle, Kingsbury, Sanborn, Hand, Hyde, Spink and Clark Counties.
Beadle County:
- Completion of asphalt resurfacing on Highway 14 through Huron, Asphalt Paving & Materials Co., $7,940,279.
- Completion of bridges and asphalt surfacing on Highway 28, Graves Construction Co., Inc. $5,166,746.
- Mill and asphalt resurfacing on 21st Street east of Dakota Avenue in Huron, Asphalt Paving & Materials Co., $560,359.
Spink County:
- Asphalt resurfacing and culvert repair on Highway 281 from Redfield to Mellette, Bituminous Paving, Inc. $6,589,686.
Kingsbury County:
- Asphalt resurfacing and culvert repair on Highway 25 from the Miner County line north to DeSmet, McLaughlin & Schulz, $2,676,169.
Clark County:
- Asphalt resurfacing and culvert repair on Highway 28 from west of Willow Lake to the south junction of Highway 25, McLaughlin & Schulz, $3,409,277.
Hand County:
- ADA upgrades to intersections on Highway 14 in Miller, St. Lawrence and Wessington, and on Highway 45 in Miller, Ti-Zack Concrete, $798,217.
- Bridge Repair on Highway 26, PCiRoads, LLC, $944,743.
Hyde County:
- Asphalt resurfacing on Highway 34 and Highway 47 from Fort Thompson to Highmore, Border States Paving, Inc., $7,072,882.
- Signing & delineation in Hyde County, Crow Creek Sioux Reservation and Lower Brule Sioux Reservation, Hamm Contracting, $653,243.
Work in multiple counties will include:
- Culvert repair on Highway 47 south of Highmore; Highway 45 south of Miller; Highway 281 north of the Sanborn County line; Highway 14 west of Huron; Highway 37 north of Huron; Highway 25 north of Highway 212; and Highway 20 west of Crocker, Smith & Smith Construction, $99,362.
- Chip seals will be completed on Highway 25 from Highway 34 north to the Kingsbury County line; Highway 25 from Highway D 28 north to Highway 212; Highway 14 between Huron and Cavour; Highway 281 from Highway 28 north to Redfield; Highway 45 from Miller north to Highway 212; Highway 47 north of Highway 26; and Highway 14 from Harrold to the Hyde County line, Hills Materials Company, $2,997,108.
