A recent Centers for Disease Control study shows that most food borne illness is caused by raw milk product consumption. That includes raw milk and cheese produced from it. The study says between 2009 and 2014, 96 percent of dairy related food borne illness came from raw milk. South Dakota Dairy Producers Association Executive Director Roger Scheibe says he’s not surprised by the study’s findings.
He says those who consume raw milk are taking chances with their health.
Scheibe says its disappointing that raw milk consumption is allowed in South Dakota.
Scheibe hopes that people will pay attention to this CDC study.
