Recent reports from China show the nation’s farmers may have cut more corn acreage. That could prove to be an opportunity for exports of U.S. corn and DDGs to China. South Dakota Corn Growers Association President Troy Knecht says the U.S. is in a good position to sell them corn if they choose to import it.
He says the U.S. needs to take advantage of export markets.
Knecht however is cautious about any possible Chinese market opening, given past developments.
China’s Ministry of Agriculture said their country planted 88 million acres of corn this year, 3.2 % less than last year.
