May is Beef Month, a time for consumers to appreciate cattle producers, and the livestock industry. South Dakota Beef Industry Council Executive Director Suzy Geppert says there are several thousand producers in the state that should be recognized.
She says an important message consumers must remember is how environmentally responsible South Dakota’s beef producers are.
Geppert says her staff and Beef Industry Council representatives have been out meeting with consumers this week at several venues to highlight the importance of beef.
Geppert says they also met with consumers at the Ag Experience Barn in Sioux Falls and took part in the Beef Crawl in Rapid City highlighting several of the restaurants in the city featuring beef on their menu.
