The Huron School Board Tuesday approved the submission of a Homeland Security grant for magnetic locks for doors at the Huron High School. High School Principal Demi Moon says the grant will help the high school continue with security upgrades…
Upgrading all doors to magnetic locks will allow school officials to keep track of who’s moving through the building…
Students will only have access in to the High School through one door at the front of the building. Staff will have access through any magnetically locked door with a key fab. School Resource Officer Nathan Benjamin told the School Board if a fab is lost he can simply deactivate it, where if a hard key was lost someone may find it and gain access to the school.
