The storm traveled south from the Aberdeen area just east of US Highway 281. Golf ball-sized hail was reported three miles east, southeast of Wolsey. Winds of 60 miles an hour were reported four miles south southwest of Hitchcock. A wind gust of 70 miles an hour recorded at the Huron Regional Airport. A report at 8:14 pm said a tornado was in Wolsey. Ten minutes later, the Weather Service says a tornado was reported near Virgil. Northwestern Energy reported power out in Hitchcock and Tulare. Fifteen transmission poles over a one-mile stretched were damaged causing around 1300 customers to be affected. Power was restored by nine-P-M. Other damage was reported seven miles north northwest of Loomis and eight miles southwest of Letcher where a trailer home rolled over in the wind.
