Santfleben Pleads Guilty To Possession Of Destructive Device

A plea agreement has been reached with a Huron man accused of having a napalm like material that resulted in a stand off with police. Forty-one-year-old Christopher Santfleben pleaded guilty Tuesday to possession of a destructive device, a Class Four felony. A charge of possession of an explosive device with intent to injure, intimidate or destroy property was dismissed. Santfleben told Judge Jon Erickson the combined Dawn and two other materials in a cooler and that he was highly intoxicated at the time. He says he was in a quote “black-out state”. He said the device would have quote “smelled pretty” end quote. Erickson ordered a pre-sentence investigation. A sentencing date has not been set. Santfleben could get a maximum of 10 years in prison and a fine up to 20-thousand dollars.
