Phone pledges totaling 16-thousand, 265-dollars have now been received after two nights of the Salvation Army Christmas Basket program. The annual event concludes Thursday evening with an early start and a massive nine member line up. The last night of Christmas Basket 2015 will start at six-PM and will include performances scheduled for Monday, that were canceled due to winter weather. Performing first will be the Huron Middle School 7th and 8th Grade band followed by the Wolsey Wessington Band and Huron Middle School 7th and 8th Grade Chorus. At approximately seven-PM, the Holy Trinity Choir of Angels will perform followed by Voila, and the Mount Olivet Church. Closing out the event will be the Huron High School Concert Choir, followed by the Huron High School orchestra and band. Proceeds raised during the Christmas Basket telethon go toward supplying Christmas Food Baskets for less fortunate families in Beadle County and surrounding areas including Wessington Springs, De Smet, Alpena, Miller and Tulare. The Christmas Basket program can be seen on the Huron Tiger Network on Midco Cable Channel Six, on the Internet at www.christmasbasket.us and heard on the radio on 1210-AM KOKK. You can also view the Christmas Basket in person at the Huron High School Auditorium. Admission is free.
