A Huron man facing over 30 charges of rape and possession of child pornography is asking for a new judge to hear his case. Beadle County States Attorney Mike Moore says defense lawyers for 65-year-old John Rose have filed motions to have Judge Jon Erickson removed from Rose’s case…
Moore says they are waiting to have a new judge assigned to the case. It’s unknown why Rose wants Erickson taken off the case. Rose was indicted last December by a Beadle County Grand Jury on 12 counts of possession of child pornography, eight counts of aggravated incest, eight counts of first degree rape and eight counts of sexual contact with a person under 16-years-old.
