Rose Avoids Trial, Pleads Guilty To Rape

Thirty-one other chargers against Rose were dismissed in the deal. They included additional charges of first-degree rape, aggravated incest, sexual contact with a child under 16 and possession or manufacture of child pornography. Beadle County States Attorney Mike Moore told Judge Vince Foley investigators found a 37-second video on a digital camera memory card, that depicted Rose manipulating the genitalia of the then, 10-year-old victim. Rose said during the change of plea hearing, he felt the tactics used by law enforcement to search his house was “uncalled for”. He told investigators where to locate evidence and authorities searched his entire house, left valuable items unsecured and out of place and even left his front door open. Moore says the family is happy the case didn’t go to trial which was to begin Wednesday…

Rose had been out of jail on bond. Foley revoked that bond and sent Rose to the Beadle County Jail to await sentencing. Foley ordered a pre-sentence investigation and psycho-sexual evaluation be performed prior to sentencing, which is set for December 10th.
