Former South Dakota legislative leader Larry Rhoden is planning to seek the GOP nomination for the U.S. Senate. The Union Center area rancher will challenge former Governor Mike Rounds to seek the seat now held by the retiring Tim Johnson. Rhoden says he’s thought about running for some time, and feels Washington is in bad shape and there are many problems to fix.
Rhoden says the national debt and budget problems are two of his main priorities if he’s elected.
Rhoden says his agricultural background will assist him in running and serving in the U.S. Senate if elected.
Rhoden says he knows he has a long ways to go but is looking forward to the challenge.
