Republican Candidate for State Auditor Makes Appearance in Huron

The Republican candidate for state auditor and current state treasurer, Rich Sattgast was in Huron today to speak to the Beadle County Republicans.

Sattgast is in the unusual position of running for an office he has held before.

Before taking office as state treasurer, Sattgast served as state auditor from 2002 to 2010. He says this is a unique moment in history for both offices.

He says transparency is one of the major issues the next state auditor will face.

Sattgast says maintaining continuity of service in the office is important.

Sattgast will face Democrat Tom Cool in November.
