REDFIELD, S.D. (AP) – Redfield School Board members have unveiled a $23 million plan to build a new school in two phases on the existing school site. The project entails building a new school to replace the 98-year-old structure and updating the newer additions, including the shop and gymnasium. Voters within the district boundaries will make the call on the new school, deciding whether they want to approve $16 million in general obligation bonds. No date has been set for the vote. Redfield Superintendent Shad Storley says school board members and administrators have discussed, analyzed and maybe argued a little before choosing the best course of action. He says the three big selling points are safety and security, accessibility and a modern educational environment.
