A re-stationing ceremony for the National Guard unit in Miller, will be a little closer than previous reported. The South Dakota National Guard issued a press release shortly after seven-P-M last night stating the ceremony for Detachment-Two, Company A, of the 139th Brigade Support Battalion will be held at the Miller National Guard Armory on Sunday at Noon. The earlier announcement of the event said I would be held in Rapid City. The Guard says no ceremony is being held in Rapid City. The ceremony is being held to honor the unit’s lineage of service to Miller, South Dakota and the United States. South Dakota National Guard adjutant general Major General Timothy Reisch will speak at the event. The public is encouraged to attend. The re-stationing of the Miller Guard unit is the result of federal budget cuts, restructuring within the U.S. Army and the construction of a new Regional Readiness Center in Watertown.
