The South Dakota Railroad Board has received maintenance plans from four rail companies that operate on state-owned lines.
The Rapid City, Pierre, and Eastern provided its plan for the Yale subdivision in Beadle County.
The 2019 preventative maintenance plan for the Yale subdivision calls for the placement of 500 tons of ballast in various locations as needed. RCPE will also install 50 crossties in various locations across the line.
The total cost for the project is estimated at $23,000.
