The railroad crossing on Lincoln Avenue in Huron will be closed beginning today thru Friday, July 13th.
Mark Hornby with the Rapid City, Pierre, and Eastern Railroad says the project is a much needed update.
It’s part of a project that stretches eight miles east.
He says the new rail will handle heavier and faster trains while replacing outdated equipment.
No traffic will be allowed through the Lincoln Avenue crossing. Trains will be able to pass on a limited night time schedule during the construction.
