A delegation of state officials was scheduled to travel to Washington last Friday and meet with the Surface Transportation Board about ongoing railroad shipment issues and delays. Airline problems forced the delegation to cancel, and instead hold phone conversations with the federal board. Governor Dennis Daugaard, Ag Secretary Lucas Lentsch and Department of Transportation Secretary Darrin Bergquist headed up the group.
