PURSUIT OF STOLEN VEHICLE ENDS IN WOONSOCKET

It started with a stolen silver Chevy Silverado from Tea that was left in Mitchell and another vehicle a 2019 Buick Encore was then stolen from Mitchell.  Only to have that vehicle left in Huron and a third vehicle a 2014 Ford Mustang was then stolen from the owners place of employment.  A supervisor was outside with the owner and informed her that the vehicle was just taken.  This theft was quickly reported and Huron PD and Beadle counties officers were soon in pursuit of the mustang leaving Huron.  The chase led west from Huron at high speeds and then North of US 14 eventually working back to Huron along Old Highway 14 to Lincoln ave then turning east eventually on 9th street at dangerously high speeds through Huron.  The one occupant was able to elude the local officers and headed south from Huron.  40 minutes later a Sanborn County Deputy spotted the vehicle heading west towards Woonsocket.  A second pursuit ensued northeast of Woonsocket at high speeds on gravel roads and eventually came back into Woonsocket.  The chase ended when the driver collided with Sanborn County Deputy Jason Coenen rolling his Chevy Tahoe patrol vehicle.  The suspect fled on foot but was held at gunpoint by a Woonsocket resident until officers arrived and placed him under arrest.  Deputy Coenen was not injured.  Several Charges face the suspect 38 year old Brandon Scott of Brookings who already had several outstanding warrants for arrest from Minnehaha County for drugs and Felony intentional damage to property.
