PUC Holds Hearing on New Tax Bill’s Impact on Utilities and Consumers

The South Dakota Public Utilities Commission held a hearing on Friday to set the procedure for assessing the impact that the new tax bill will have on South Dakota’s utilities and ratepayers.  South Dakota Public Utilities Commissioner Chris Nelson.

He says the commission will work with the companies on determining what will be done with the money saved by the bill.

Nelson says the time frame for utilities reporting changes to the commission was established during the hearing.

He says each utility company will be in a different situation after the tax bill takes effect.
