Jeff Pownell and family owners of Pop Ice Cream shop had a grand opening Thursday of 145 Dakota Avenue South. A building that they purchased to update, renovate and once again make part of the Huron community. The building is the second renovation project since the Pownell’s moved back to Huron in 2019. Jeff talks about restoration surprises.
The renovation of the building turned into a step into a time capsule as Pownell talks about what they found.
Jeff said his family combined talents in restoration of the building. It will be the future home for Diamonds in the Rough Boutique which is coincidently a good name for a business to occupy the space.
Roger Pownell spoke of the hotel rooms. There were 13 but with a common non use of the number “13” thought of as an unlucky number. That door used “17”.
