Power Outage Leaves Around 950 in Mitchell Without Power

2018 got off to a rocky start for about 950 NorthWestern Energy customers in Mitchell New Year’s Day. Spokesman Tom Glanzer says power at the Lake Substation went out around 8:30 Monday morning.

Local officials opened the Corn Palace and the Davison County Fairgrounds as emergency shelters until repairs were made.

Glanzer says the cold weather had nothing to do with the outage but says problems like this seem to occur at the most inopportune times.
