The weekend burglary of a downtown sports bar has the Huron Police Department asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect. Information Officer Sergeant Brandon Neitzert says the department is investigating a break-in at the Scoreboard Bar and Grill on 3rd Street, a half block east of Dakota Avenue/State Highway 37, only blocks away from the Police Department. Neitzert says the suspect appears to have forced their way into the Scoreboard through doors at the back of the building and proceeded to gain access to the cash registers. Police believe losses from the burglary could be upwards of 10-thousand dollars. Police have released stills shots of security video footage showing an individual wearing a white or gray hooded sweatshirt and light colored blue jeans, carrying a cream-colored backpack with black trim and straps. Police are hoping someone can identify the suspect based on the photos released to the public. Anyone with information regarding the burglary or identification of the suspect is asked to contact the Huron Police at 353-85-50 or Huron Area Crimestoppers at 353-85-55. Callers to Crimestoppers can remain anonymous if leaving a tip for authorities. A reward may be offered for information leading to an arrest.
