Those near Center Street and U Avenue may have been wondering what all the hub bub was about last night. Students in the Huron Citizen’s Police Academy got to see a law enforcement traffic stop from the OTHER side of the steering wheel Thursday night. The eighth week of the Academy was all about making regular and felony traffic stops. The night began in the classroom for the basics….

The class drove to wide, smooth, paved roads of U Avenue and Center Street on Huron’s west side. Officers Mark Johnson, Cory Borg and Mark Bruggeman took groups of students in patrol cars while three students offered personal vehicles as “bad guy” cars.
