A 21-year-old Iroquois man has pleaded guilty to a grand theft charge for taking items from multiple automobiles in Huron earlier this this year. Alan Olson was facing seven charges for a series of burglaries from vehicles and garages during a three week stretch in July. A 17-year-old juvenile male was also arrested in relation to the spree. A charge of third degree burglary and five counts of criminal entry of a motor vehicle were dismissed in a plea deal with the Beadle County States Attorney’s Office. Olson admitted to taking nearly 12-hundred dollars worth of car audio systems and money from vehicles during the burglary spree. Most of the stolen goods have been returned to their owners. Beadle County Deputy States Attorney Dan Nelson asked for restitution of twelve dollars for a victim who had twelve dollars taken from his vehicle. Judge Jon Erickson ordered a pre-sentence investigation. Olson remains out of jail on bond. A sentencing date has not been set.
