HURON, SD – Some east-central South Dakota communities will be without power Tuesday morning as NorthWestern Energy switches to a new substation. NorthWestern says the outage will begin at 6 a.m. and continue for about an hour and a half. Customers in Hitchcock, Bonilla and surrounding areas will be affected. Crews will switch the electrical load from a portable substation to the new Hitchcock substation, part of $800,000 in upgrades to the area’s electrical system.
