Performance Radio News the best in the Midwest, or at least the Dakotas when it come to the Associated Press. The AP gave Performance Radio News a total of 10 awards in the 2014 Great Plains Broadcast News Contest including five First Place awards, in a small market radio competition that included stations in North and South Dakota. Performance Radio News made it a clean sweep in the General News category with a first, second and third place win. First place went to a story on the James River Job Tour last October…
Other general news wins included second place for a story on changes to the Beadle County jail because of the Charles Beeney escape. Third place was for a story on Beeney’s sentencing. The Charles Beeney escape also netted a First Place in the Continuing Story category, and second place in the Spot News category….
Other AP wins include first and second place in the best use of audio category for story on a New Year’s Eve ride-along with Huron police and a Special Response Team training in Woonsocket. The ride along story also won third place in the Feature Category….
Performance Radio News also won First Place for website and newscast. Other winning stations included Hub City Radio in Aberdeen and KORN Radio in Mitchell with five wins and KDDR in Oakes, North Dakota with one. We’ve posted the list of winners and have included the award winning stories below:
