Parking Ordinance Changes Approved

The Huron City Commission Monday night approved second reading of ordinance changes relating to parking in Huron. Commissioner Kerwin Haeder looked over what areas of the ordinances were under review….

Changes made for second reading include general language and definition clean-up, fire lanes and temporary parking zones, issues brought up last week. Dale Wolf of Huron addressed the Commission on a number of concerns he had about parking on streets…

Wolf also expressed concern over the safety of children playing near the tighter streets. Both Mayor Dave McGirr and City Engineer Mike Wever commented on the size of the streets…

The City Commission also passed second reading of an ordinance that repeals and eliminates all reference to parking meters, which the City of Huron has not used in a number of years.
