Running’s offered a 10-dollar discount for people coming in to purchase the radios, while Beadle County Emergency Manager Tom Moeding and Performance Radio staff offered free programming of the units. Severe Weather Awareness week is designed by the National Weather Service to get residents of communities across the state thinking about what to do when severe weather approaches. The week will unofficially end next Monday, April 27th as the National Weather Service brings a Severe Weather Awareness class to Huron. Moeding is hopeful the weather radio programming event will lead to larger attendance to the training..
Severe Weather Awareness training is next Monday, April 27th at the Pyle Room on the first floor of the Campus Center in Huron. The training runs from seven to nine P-M and is free to attend.
